WALK DESCRIPTION: Forest path, up & down for over half the route, rocky & rooty underfoot in some places, in other places a bridle path or a Forest Service road. Considerable ups & downs with overall elevation gain in the region of 400 m, depending on the option chosen.
DIRECTIONS TO START POINT: From the intersection of Prospect Lake Rd and Burnside Rd W, go north on Prospect Lake Rd for 1.2 km; then left on Munn Rd for 7 km. Mt Work Regional Park parking lot (large sign at the driveway entrance) is on the right, just past Fork Lake Rd.

WALK DESCRIPTION: Walk the perimeter of the River Bend Golf Course in wooded area with hills. After walking at River Bend Area we will drive over to the Kiwanis Picnic Shelter to enjoy lunch by the Red Deer River. Bring your own bagged lunch & chair (seating limited), club will provide dessert (cake & fruit). After lunch, join us for a river walk.
DIRECTIONS TO START POINT: From Hwy 2 take Exit 401 into Red Deer, continue east on 67 Street to 30 Avenue, as you approach the roundabout, keep left, then left turn onto 30 Avenue, continue on 30 Avenue for 3 km to the entrance to River Bend Golf & Recreation Centre, left turn, continue down the hill to the parking lot.

WALK DESCRIPTION: Walk along the Red Deer River on paved trails in Great Chief Park, cross river, go up hill to Heritage Ranch.
DIRECTIONS TO START POINT: From Hwy 2 take Exit 401 into Red Deer, continue east on 67 Street to Taylor Drive. Right turn & continue to Kerry Wood Drive, right turn. From River Bend Recreation Area entrance, right turn onto 30 Avenue, continue to 67 Street (round about), right turn, continue west on 67 Street to Taylor Drive, left turn continue to Kerry Wood Drive, right turn. Directions from Kerry Wood Drive continue to Fountain Drive, left turn, follow this road to the Kiwanis Picnic Shelter, parking lot on the left.
